DARLINGTON kindy dance teacher Lara Gandini has raised the bar to reach the final of a nation-wide competition.

Ms Gandini is one of 10 finalists in the Ausmumpreneur awards.

She started Kindy Dance Time with 20 students in 2005.

The business now operates 36 locations across Australia, including classes in Mundaring, Darlington and Guildford locally.

Ms Gandini is a finalist in the people’s choice ‘service business’ award.

“We have over 1000 children a week joining in the fun of Kindy Dance Time,” Ms Gandini said.

Ms Gandini is a mother to three children, aged 16, 15 and three.

She said the title of Mumpreneur was not one she had considered, but having built up a successful business while raising a family, she was happy to take up the mantle.

“Mumpreneurs are a special group of people I think,” she said.

“Savvy businesswomen, who can juggle the demands of business and family life at the same time, definitely deserve some recognition, which is why these awards are so wonderful.”

The winners will be announced at a ceremony in Melbourne next month.
