Participants record their swimming distances and are able to compare them with other known distances.

Swimmers who complete 5000 laps of Bilgoman pool will achieve the equivalent distance of swimming from Fremantle to Busselton and those who swim 760 laps could consider the distance as training to swim the English Channel.

Lanes of the outdoor pool are dedicated to lap swimming from 5.30am to 8.30am during weekdays.

Lane ropes are moved at 8.30am, with one lane remaining open for lap swimming until 6.30pm and two lanes from 6.30pm to 8pm.

The best times for lap swimming on weekdays are before 9.30am, between noon and 1pm and after 6pm, with extended lap training available when lanes are not used for swimming lessons.

Training over weekends and public holidays is available across the entire pool from 7am to 8.30am, with two lanes reserved from 8.30am to 11am.
