Darlington Volunteer Bush Fire Brigade fired up for month of action

Sarah BrookesHills Avon Valley Gazette

TO finish off Bush Fire Action Month, firefighters from the Darlington Volunteer Bush Fire Brigade will host their traditional sausage sizzle at Bunnings Midland on October 28.

Volunteer Ricky Harvey said firefighters would also set up an information tent to deliver handouts on the Department of Fire and Emergency Services’ new 5 Minute Fire Chat program that encourages families to talk about their plan of action if a fire threatened their home.

“We will also be joined by Fire & Rescue crews, DFES staff, and Shire of Mundaring Fire Inspection Officers, who will all be on hand to talk to the community about bush fire mitigation, home and property preparation, and individual bush fire plans ahead of the coming fire season,” he said.
