Deadline to comment on Helena Valley development plans looming

TIME is running out to have a say on plans for urban development in Helena Valley.

The Shire of Mundaring advised public comment on the Draft Helena Valley Urban Expansion Strategy would close on Thursday, February 9.

Shire President David Lavell said Helena Valley had been identified as a growth area.

“By having a plan for urban expansion, we can cater for population growth, while making sure the whole suburb develops in a co-ordinated and sustainable way,” he said.

He encouraged the community to help ensure the Shire would meet the needs of current and future residents.

“Once the final strategy is adopted, it will be used as a guide to co-ordinate local and metropolitan scheme amendments, subdivisions and development plans.”
