AN event of sport, fashion and live music is just the ticket for race-goers over the Queen’s birthday long weekend.
Among the many attractions at the 150th Toodyay Picnic Race Day on Sunday will be free children’s activities and Fashions on the Field, with a chance of winning more than $6000 of gold and jewellery.
Sports Minister and local MP Mia Davies, the event patron, will attend the Toodyay Racecourse spectacular along with The Face of WA Country Cups, Nikki Gogan.
The Northam-based real estate agent and race fan is the latest ambassador for country racing.
Ms Gogan flew the flag for the State in the national fashion racing stakes last year when she was runner-up in Fashions on the Field at the Melbourne Cup.
She also scooped a state award and was a judge at the Toodyay Fashions on the Field.
Amateur football clubs from around the State will enter their fastest player in the 100m dash for cash race on the field for a chance to win $1000. It runs from 11am to 9pm with free entry to accompanied under-18s.
