The bushfire that was burning in Kalamunda has been extinguished, but firefighters will monitor the area for the rest of the day.

Residents are being urged to remain vigilant.

Earlier, fireys from three brigades battled a bushfire on the corner of Railway and Mundaring Weir roads in Kalamunda.

The fire was reported at 11.26am today.

The City of Kalamunda administration building, Holy Family Church and residential properties are located on Railway Road.
