Sally McGlewHills Avon Valley Gazette

The expo will be held at the Kalamunda Performing Arts Centre and Agricultural Hall at 48 Canning Road in Kalamunda and will include short presentations, stalls and displays from the Bushfire Brigade, Bushfire Ready Groups and the Department of Fire and Emergency Services.

Chief executive Rhonda Hardy said: "The shire is located in a high bushfire risk area and each year there is the potential for large-scale bushfires."

"The focus for this year's expo will be on the changing landscape of the Hills region."

"The expo will inform and educate residents on how to best prepare in the event of a bushfire, understanding the DFES warning system, what to have in your emergency survival kit, volunteer recruitment, bushfire prone areas, fire and biodiversity information, and local fire resistant products and services."
