A five-year-old Gidgeannup boy caused quite a stir after he was reported missing by his parents on Sunday evening.

Just before 6pm Police received a call from a frantic parent saying their son had gone missing from their Gidgegannup home.

They had searched everywhere but weren’t able to find him.

An hour later a seemingly unrelated call was made to police after a passer-by noticed a young child in the rear of a Mazda SUV parked at Midland Gate Cinemas (about 25kms from Gidgegannup).

Police attended and after talking to the boy established that he had in fact been playing a game of hide and seek with another sibling and believed that the vehicle was an excellent hiding place.

That was until his mother drove to the cinema to see a movie, completely unaware that her son was tucked away in the back playing the greatest game of hide and seek ever.

The boy was later reunited with his relieved parents.
