Justin BianchiniHills Avon Valley Gazette

THE threat of fire has forced the closure of Avon Valley National Park.

The Department of Parks and Wildlife will close the park from noon today until 10am Monday after the Bureau of Meteorology’s forecast of extreme fire weather conditions.

People are urged to avoid the area, which is in the Shire of Toodyay and City of Swan, follow the advice of department staff and observe signs.

Those already in the park should leave.
