Former MP is only new face on council

Incumbents Simon Di Rosso, Dylan O’Connor, Geoff Stallard and Noreen Towns-end remain in their respective wards after being voted back in by the public.

Cr Waddell, who replaced Martyn Cresswell in the north west ward, said he was thrilled to be back in a position representing the community.

‘I have a lot more to give and it will give me an opportunity to fix things that have been raised with me,’ he said.

The High Wycombe resident said he always had a passion to serve the community.

When talking about the upcoming amalgamation with the City of Belmont, Mr Waddell said he wanted to ensure residents’ interests were looked after.

Mr Waddell held the seat of Forrestfield from 2008 until this year when he was beaten by Liberal member Nathan Morton in the State election.

At a meeting on Monday, councillors were sworn in and Sue Bilich was re-elected as Shire President.

With amalgamations expected in 2015, she may be the last president for Kalamunda, but she said she didn’t feel any extra pressure.

‘I am fine about it, I am just very focused and determined to achieve the best outcome for Kalamunda,’ she said.
