A FORRESTFIELD bowling club has been promised $220,000 if Labor wins government on Saturday

Hasluck Labor candidate Bill Leadbetter said the money would go to the construction of a synthetic bowling green at Forrestfield and Districts Bowling Club.

It would replace one of the greens affected by poor weather and shade in winter.

“This funding will mean the club has an all-year bowling surface,” he said.

“The new green will also be suitable for bowling across all directions so the wear and tear of the surface is shared.

“The benefit in investing in this future for the club is that the wider community can use this facility for many years to come.”

Mr Leadbetter said he would also work to ensure the Midland Information Debt and Legal Advocacy Service (MIDLAS) had the funds it needed.

He said MIDLAS would receive $180,000 in funding under a Labor government.

“Labor knows the importance of legal centres like MIDLAS. They help Australians when they are often most in need – the victims of domestic violence, predatory lenders and financial scams are among the most common of their clients.”
