THE fyi Youth Drop In Program is getting ready to kick off again on Thursday February 9.

The Forrestfield Youth Initiative – or fyi for short – is a free drop in activity session for young people aged 9-15 featuring social sports, a chill out zone, craft activities and healthy snacks.

Held at the Hartfield Park Recreation Centre in Forrestfield, the program operates from 3.30pm-5.30pm every Thursday in the school term.

Kalamunda Shire President Andrew Waddell said all young people living or attending school within the Shire are encouraged to come along to fyi.

“It’s a free fun program encouraging people to try new things as well as meet other young people in the area,” he said.

“At fyi young people are able to participate in a creative activity, an hour of physical games and enjoy a healthy snack. Sports vary from week to week depending on the group’s interests but basketball, badminton, indoor soccer and dodge ball are usually on the agenda.”

The fyi creative activity is generally arts and crafts related, but guest facilitators are also invited every term to host a unique workshop.

The Hartfield Park Recreation Centre is located at 199 Hale Road, Forrestfield.
