Gidgegannup Progress Assocation welcomes medical centre proposal

GIDGEGANNUP Progress Association has welcomed a proposal for a medical centre in the village.

Chairwoman Sally Block said the village has no public transport and nearest medical centre was in Mundaring, a 24km round-trip.

“The community of Gidgegannup is 100 per cent behind the proposal to have their own medical centre,” she said.

City of Swan is calling for public comment on the addition of the medical centre and pharmacy on Lot 125 in Toodyay Road.

The closing date for submissions is May 12 and the application requires a scheme amendment to include the additional uses.

Several doctors and a pharmacist have committed to lease the property subject to relevant approvals from the City.
