Glen Forrest: car owner puts out fire

A CAR owner had a tense start to the day, having to put out a fire that engulfed a vehicle in Glen Forrest.

The blaze happened near Smith Street and Glen Forrest Drive about 8.40am.

A spokeswoman said the owner had extinguished the blaze by about 9am.

She said five fire appliances were sent to monitor the scene and had left by about 10am.

She said it was not known how the blaze began.
