Good golly, Molly’s back

Ms Gatter was gushing with appreciation for residents on behalf of their effort on finding her mini dachshund Molly.

"Take a collective bow, Hills people, you are very, very special and please accept our heartfelt thanks," she said.

On August 20, Molly was spooked by tree removal work from the block next door, dug her way under a fence and fled.

Later that afternoon she had been spotted running alongside Great Eastern Highway in Sawyers Valley.

The person who saw Molly was kind enough to call the local Shire rangers, and thanks to that one phone call, Ms Gatter knew where to start her search.

She put up posters, did a letterbox drop, searched near the walking tracks and took to social media and local vets.

The response on Facebook was overwhelming and many people shared the post to friends and businesses.

Molly was found on Saturday morning at the rear of a home.

The owner had returned home on the Friday night and found out from a neighbour that the dog she had found could be the missing dachshund.

Molly was reunited with her family several hours later.
