GREENMOUNT marriage celebrant Julie Carlton (63) says you’re never too old to upskill, even when it comes to the brave new world of social media.

Mrs Carlton was one of 10 senior interns selected for a week-long internship at ecommerce business Luxury Escape at its Melbourne headquarters.

The former teacher undertook classes in travel writing, social media and media as well as meditation classes and access to ping ping and unlimited ice cream, proving the modern workplace is more zen than Mad Men.

“I was most looking forward to the masterclass in content writing and social media, meeting the other winners, and just learning about the travel industry inside out,” she said.

“I am a strong advocate of lifelong learning, I had a 40-year career in education and absolutely love reading books.

“It’s never too late to upskill.”

Mrs Carlton will put her newfound knowledge to the test when she cycles along the Danube in Europe.
