Greenmount residents leave floral tribute for elderly man killed in house fire

RESIDENTS have a left a floral tribute to an 87-year-old neighbour killed in a house fire in Greenmount between Christmas and New Year.

Police and Department of Fire and Emergency Services officers found the man with serious burns when they were called to the Old York Road home on December 27 at 11.20am.

He was taken to St John of God Midland Public Hospital where he later died.

The cause of the fire is not believed to be suspicious and the Arson Squad is preparing a report for the coroner.
