‘Interested volunteers should come along to find out if the group is the right fit for them,’ she said.

The riding centre has six horses and the coach matches each horse to suit the needs of each rider, aged four to teens.

‘I also need to match the right helper with a rider and horse,’ said Ms Warnock.

‘It is a very special experience to be part of a young rider’s relationship with a horse. Helpers are very important.’

Volunteers do not need experience with horses because training is provided.

The group runs riding sessions for the disabled on Mondays and Wednesdays after school and on Saturday mornings. The sessions start next month.
