In January, Cr Ian Johnson proposed a motion “that a report was prepared for Council to consider an amendment to the City’s Local Planning Scheme No. 17 to introduce controls that will limit the height of buildings within the locality of Guildford to no more than two storeys or a comparable height.”
The motion was carried, however at last week’s council meeting, it was back on the agenda.
After question time with the councillors, Cr John McNamara moved an amendment to investigate and brief council on other height possibilities up to eight storeys in Guildford, in relation to local planning scheme No.17. Cr David McDonnell seconded the motion, which was passed unanimously by council.
