THE Chimera Ensemble will assemble in the heritage-listed chapel at Guildford Grammar School on Sunday June 19.

Violinist Rebecca Glorie, cellist Melinda Forsythe and pianist Tommaso Pollio will present three contrasting piano trios in the building that reflects gothic architecture.

The show will include early Viennese-style Beethoven, Spanish virtuosity of Cassado, and the dramatically moving Shostakovich piano trio no 2.

Tommaso Pollio teaches piano at the school, and is thrilled the ensemble have received permission to use the chapel.

“Guildford Grammar has a wonderful music department and I really enjoy working there,” he said.

“As a thank you for the school’s generosity, all Guildford Grammar students will have free admission to the concert.”

Starting at 3pm, it will take place in the Chapel of St Mary and St George at Guildford Grammar School, Terract Road, Guildford.

Tickets from $15 at www.trybooking.com/LKPI, or at the door.
