Here is a list of groups that you can gain assistance or financial support from.

FIRE HOTLINE

The Shire of Mundaring’s Fire Hotline is now open to deal with all fire-related questions. The number is 9290 6782. The Brown Park Recreation Ground, on Amherst and Salisbury roads, Swan View, will likely remain open as the recovery centre for those affected until the middle of next week. The Shire will then look to establish a location closer to Mundaring for the centre.

RUBBISH RELIEF

The council has provided bulk rubbish bins for fire-affected residents at the following locations: Mundaring Church of Christ – 1470 Stoneville Rd, Mundaring; Parkerville Hall – Cnr Seabourne St and Riley Rd, Parkerville; Norris Park – Bentley St, Stoneville; Pioneer Park – Cnr Keane St and Sawyers Rd. The bins are for items normally placed in green-lidded bins.

$3000 PAYMENT

The State Government has made available a payment of $3000 to those whose homes have been destroyed and $1000 to people whose houses have been damaged but are still habitable. This payment will be made available through the Shire of Mundaring on 9290 6666 or online at mundaring.wa.gov.au. So far, 54 payments have been made.

DISASTER RELIEF

The Federal Government is providing $1000 per eligible adult and $400 per eligible child adversely affected by the fire. For more information or to apply, go to tinyurl.com/qbdrpht

The Government also has announced funding to help with the demolition of homes destroyed or damaged by the fires. Residents can register via the Shire’s hotline.

ENVIRONMENTAL CARE

Fire-affected residents concerned about trees on their property should phone the hotline.

FACEBOOK SUPPORT

A Facebook site ” the Parkerville Fire support page ” has been created for those affected by the fire.

It provides local information, such as lost and found dogs.

ANIMAL ASSISTANCE

Residents who come across injured wildlife in the fire zone should call the Wildcare Helpline on 9474 9055.

COUNSELLING

The Mundaring Church of Christ is offering a free counselling sessions with professional staff for those impacted by the bushfire. Call 9295 0727 to arrange an appointment or go to mundaringcofc.org.au.
