Hills residents turn out to Anzac Day services in strength

HUNDREDS joined Hills events to commemorate Anzac Day on Tuesday, including marches in Chidlow and Northam.

Chidlow RSL sub-branch vice president Corrina Caswell said about 700 people attended its march and service , which followed a gunfire breakfast provided by Chidlow Volunteer Bush Fire Brigade.

“It was absolutely wonderful,” she said.

“The RSL committee are grateful for everyone’s generosity, both our members and others; they have been very generous with time and help.”

Northam RSL held a parade followed by a service at Northam Memorial Hall.

Kalamunda Education Support Centre held an Anzac service for students this morning, with a speech given by Di Mgraith from Kalamunda RSL.

Students Amy Thomas (18) and Jay White (18) with the wreaths and Kalamunda Senior High School student Aiden Law-Davis (17) played the bugle.
