A special sign was unveiled and commemorative trees planted for the occasion.

The 1896 headmaster’s quarters at Sawyers Valley School were refurbished as a classroom and interactive museum, where early childhood students will be able to experience life as it was.

It consists of living quarters furnished as they might have been in Victorian times, and students will have the opportunity to wash clothes using a washboard and basin, play Victorian games, cook and engage in other activities.

The school received a $10,000 heritage grant from the Federal Government and $2000 from Mundaring Shire.
