“Mounted police in WA have been around a long time; in fact, the unit is the longest continuously serving police section in WA Police,” a police spokeswoman said.
“We have been providing mounted patrols since its inception over 140 year ago.”
The police spokeswoman said mounted police gathered vital intelligence from the public and were able to patrol areas not accessible to vehicles.
