Launched in 2010 with modest beginnings, the markets now run with more than 40 stallholders each Sunday in the Central Mall.

Kalamunda Chamber of Commerce president Caroline Babbage called it a significant achievement.

‘Come talk to farmers and producers about their family recipes, taste samples and meet others with a passion for fresh local produce,’ she said.

‘Stallholders make our market unique, they are local families and help create the strong sense of family and community the market is known for.’

Stallholders Ric and Narelle Engle of WA Hills Fresh said the markets boosted local industry.

‘Markets provide direct contact with those interested in buying grower-direct,’ Ms Engle said.

‘We can also look to expand what is grown.’

The market will be on Sunday, May 4 from 8am-noon in the Central Mall.
