’TIS the season for singing carols in the park followed by a festive barbecue with family and friends.
Kalamunda’s Carols by Candlelight, from 7-10.30pm on Sunday at Stirk Park, is a popular sing-a-long among the many free local events in December.
A special Kalamunda Night Market with carollers and free kids photos with Santa and his elves will offer Christmas cheer from 6pm to 9pm on December 15, thanks to the Kalamunda Chamber of Commerce and the City of Kalamunda.
In Maida Vale, there will be a free barbecue and carols on the lawns of Advent Park, from 6.15pm on December 17.
On the same day, from 4pm to 7pm at Wattle Grove Nature Park, enjoy an afternoon of entertainment, cuddly animals and bouncy castles, plus a free ice-cream and Santa visit with gifts for the first 100 children.
High Wycombe will host a community picnic with song and dance, and kids crafts, 5.30-8pm, December 21 at Scott Reserve, supported by Kalamunda Performers, City of Kalamunda and Bank of Ideas.

Festive attractions in the Shire of Mundaring are in full flow with Carols at the Lake among the highlights.
Singers will serenade at Lake Leschenaultia, from 6.30-9.30pm on December 17, in an event hosted by Chidlow Progress Association.
Bring a picnic to Carols in the Hills on December 14, from 5.30-9.30pm at the Sculpture Park in Mundaring.
