Kids wax lyrical about Shire of Mundaring school holiday activities

Lynn GriersonHills Avon Valley Gazette

CHILDREN are discovering new skills at school holiday activities in the Shire of Mundaring.

Art-based activities held at the Mundaring Library and Katharine Susannah Prichard Library, inside Boya Community Centre, provided children aged from six with a candle-decorating workshop in time for the season of giving.

Each child was given a strip of baking paper, a plain candle, stencils, glue sticks and an array of brightly-coloured markers.

The children drew their illustrations on the baking paper and their designs were bound to the candles using heat from a hairdryer.
