UPGRADES at Lake Leschenaultia have increased the beach area of the Perth Hills tourist attraction.
Mundaring Shire recently replenished the sand and extended the beach section at the lake.
Other work involved the removal of several potentially dangerous tree stumps from the water on the west side of the lake.
New habitat for lake birdlife will be provided through a replanting program with reed beds along the spillway at the northern boundary of the new beach.

Upcoming events in and around the lake include an Australian Time Trials Association mountain bike event on August 25, the Masters Open Water Swim on November 11, the Perth Trail Run on November 18 and the Elite Youth Triathlon on December 1.
