ACTIVITIES to encourage seniors to exercise mind and body are on offer in Mundaring from 10am to 1.30pm on Thursday.

The LiveLighter Seniors Activity Information Day at The Hub of the Hills provides a meeting place to connect with other seniors in the Hills community and have a go at new challenges.

Mundaring Shire and the Seniors Recreation Council of WA is supporting the event, along with volunteers and service providers who will provide information through a variety of displays.

Popular community group The Men’s Shed is opening its doors and inviting visitors inside for a chat and a look at work made by members.

Activities to try will include Xbox Kinect, seated hockey, shuffle ball, mini golf, quoits and – weather permitting – pole walking.

Seniors are encouraged to wear flat shoes to try out carpet bowls with the Mundaring Seniors Carpet Bowls.

A light lunch will be provided and an RSVP is essential for the event.

To book, contact Dawn Yates on 9492 9773 or email dawn.yates@srcwa.asn.au.
