Man tried to abduct children after forcing his way into Forrestfield home

Midland Detectives are on the hunt for a man in relation to a terrifying child abduction attempt from a Forrestfield home today.

Detectives claim the man forced his way into the home and attempted to take two children.

A 67-year-old woman was at her home on Anderson Street about 10.15am, when the man knocked on her door pretending to deliver a letter.

He pushed his way past the woman to where her three grandchildren were playing inside the house.

He then attempted to lure her eight-year-old granddaughter to accompany him, before asking the same of her seven-year-old granddaughter.

After he was refused, the man left the premises.

He is described as being of a stocky build, with olive skin, and short black hair.

He may have been driving a vehicle similar to a grey Honda CRV, with the number plates obscured.
