A MAN’s body has been recovered after he drowned at Red Hill Quarry on Sunday afternoon.
The man, in his 20s, and his friends entered the quarry in Gidgegannup on Sunday afternoon, despite the property being private and not open to the public.
The man went into the water, which can be 25m deep in some areas, and signalled to his friends he needed help. Emergency services attended the scene before police divers were called to search the area at 9.30pm.
They located the man’s body about 2.30am Monday and he was taken to St John of God Hospital in Midland.
Police will prepare a report for the Coroner.
