Mark August 20 in your diaries for the Beverley Show

CITY dwellers are invited to a day in the country at the 140th Beverley Show next month.

The annual agricultural attraction of live demos, farming favourites and sideshow alley rides will be topped off with a fireworks display, live music and children’s movies at night.

Event co-ordinator Sarah Aynsley said more than 3000 people attended the show each year from the Beverley community, surrounding districts and Perth.

Wood chopping, equestrian events, Motocross and sheepdog demonstrations feature alongside two tugs of war.

New to the show is The Grain Trail, complemented by show rides, dodgem cars and Old MacDonald’s Farm.

The theme for this year’s event on Saturday, August 20 is Safe road to Beverley and comprises a live crash demo by local emergency services and Elephant in the Wheatbelt.

All the fun of the fair begins at 9am on Beverley Showgrounds in Forrest Street.
