A FUNDRAISER to help research into cystic fibrosis is being held in Middle Swan on Monday nights for the next few months.

Anyone interested in bingo will love the event, to be held every Monday night at the Midland Sports Complex on Patterson Drive in Middle Swan. For the high-rollers, bigger cash prizes are offered on the last Monday of each month.

Bingo is also held every Wednesday night at the Platinum Restaurant and Function Centre on the corner of Wanneroo Road and Amelia Street in Balcatta.

Conquer Cystic Fibrosis is a charity run by volunteers which funds research aimed at improving and extending the lives of 3000 Australians living with the genetic disease.

Conquer Cystic Fibrosis chairwoman Wendy Endebrock-Brown said the charity hosted several events throughout the year including a grand ball, but it was the ongoing efforts of Peter and Lisa Manwaring which were vital to its continuation.

“What Peter and Lisa do week in and week out is literally saving lives,” Ms Endebrock-Brown said.

“We have funded more than 25 research projects since we started 15 years ago and that’s only possible through our volunteers and those who attend our events,” she said.

There is a high-roller night with bigger prize money on the first Wednesday of each month at Balcatta.

Doors open at 5.30pm at both centres, with ‘eyes down’ at 8pm and wind-up about 10.30pm.

Hot meals are also available to purchase at very reasonable prices at Balcatta.
