Despite a large increase in the volume of traffic, police recorded few violations, according to officer-in- charge of York police Sergeant Mark Gubanyi.
‘Almost 300 vehicles were stopped for random breath tests, with all drivers returning negative readings,’ Sgt Gubanyi said.
‘We had a report of some hoon activity around York on early Saturday morning,’ he said. ‘Thanks to some local information we think we know who the driver may be.’
