“As a result of the Waterwise Schools Program, Mt Helena students have become more aware of the need to use water wisely to preserve our precious water supplies,” she said.

“With Mundaring Weir close by and the pipeline to Kalgoorlie running straight past our school, we have a daily reminder of the importance of water.”

Water Corporation general manager customer and community group Catherine Ferrari said the school had been important in sharing the water wise message.

“In our drying climate it’s important the next generation are aware how previous water is and Mt Helena Primary School has bee sharing this message for 10 years,” she said.

“Students are the water users of the future, so it is vital teachers continue to educate students about the value of water.”
