MUNDARING Shire co-hosted a workshop to reinforce bushfire recovery as a priority in the region.

The recent seminar with Perth NRM is part of the sustainability group’s professional development in environmental management series.

Mundaring Shire environment and sustainability co-ordinator Briony Moran said the seminar was designed to build knowledge and skills of those involved in post-bushfire recovery, restoration and conservation in the Swan region.

“The discussion covered many aspects of post-bushfire recovery including weed control, native animal recovery and managing the movement of machinery and people on site after the fire is out,” she said.

The panel included representatives from City of Swan fire and emergency services and was attended by government agency and community leaders.
