MUNDARING teenager Lara Kirby has achieved national recognition in the finals of Australia’s longest running culinary competition.
The 19-year-old Sandalford Wines chef turned up the heat at the 2017 Nestle Golden Chef’s Hat Award finals, battling it out at Fine Food Australia in front of a huge crowd.
Kirby took home silver medals for her entree, main and dessert courses.
Together with teammate Hudson Stokes, who also works at Sandalford Wines, the pair produced a standout entree course of seafood tasting plate – scallop ceviche, panko crumbed prawn and sous-vide trout.
