CONSTRUCTION of a multimillion-dollar community centre in Boya is months ahead of schedule and due to open early next year.
Shire of Mundaring Deputy President Patrick Bertola said several councillors recently toured the sports and leisure facility on Scott Street.
“The building works were originally due to be complete in March 2017, however the completion date is now set for November this year,” Cr Bertola said.

READ NOWServices at the facility will open early in 2017 following an internal fitout of the new Boya Library, replacing the Katharine Susannah Prichard Library in Greenmount.
Boya Community Centre is one of the Shire’s major capital works projects.
Badge Constructions won the tender for the contract in October 2015 and construction started in January this year.
Along with the new library, the $7.4 million project features works for the new Boya Oval and a modern community hall to replace Boya and Greenmount halls.
Cr Bertola said councillors on the tour noted the bright and airy hall spaces.
He said the library would more than triple in size and include additional facilities such as meeting rooms and a lounge.
Arrangements are in place to transport the much-loved stained glass window of the Greenmount library to the new facility.
The current library and hall in Greenmount will remain in operation until the new spaces are ready to open.
Works on Boya Oval are under way and include new flood lighting, water irrigation tank and extended playing surface.
