New citizens welcomed

Hasluck MHR Ken Wyatt and State Planning Minister John Day attended the Shire of Kalamunda’s ceremony this week to welcome its newest citizens, along with Forrestfield MLA Nathan Morton, Kalamunda Shire President Andrew Waddell, and councillors John Giardina, Noreen Townsend, Geoff Stallard, Allan Morton, Sara Lohmeyer, Tracy Destree, Simon Di Rosso and Michael Fernie.

The Department of Immigration and Border Protection said more than 87 people joined in the Citizenship Ceremony at the Agriculture Hall in Kalamunda, originating from 27 different countries.

More than 16,000 people from 150 countries became citizens on Australia Day.
