THE fashion stakes will be high at a race competition this weekend on the runway at Northam Race Club.

The WA Country Cups Fashions on the Field returns on Sunday, October 8 for the 2017 regional heat of the state-wide challenge.

Elizabeth Winlo won the heat last year to represent the Wheatbelt in the final where she placed second to Pilbara’s Sarah McEwan.

The fashionistas will be on the other side of the table this year as judges for the Northam heat on Ladies Day at the race club.

Ms Winlo encouraged women to enter the competition, which offers the top prize of a trip for two to London and a visit to Royal Ascot.

“Now the weather is warming up and we are officially in spring mode, I am keen to see gorgeous examples of spring colours and as always the attention to detail that demands the judge’s attention – an outfit that has a wow factor,” she said.

To add to the prize pool, the winner will also receive $10,000 spending money from TABtouch, a diamond piece from Leon Baker Jewellers and a voucher from WA handbag and accessory label Jessica Bratich.

The WA Country Cups Fashions on the Field consists of nine regional heats at major country race meetings across the state, culminating in the December 2 final at Perth Racing.

Racing and Wagering Western Australia supports WA Country Cups and Community TAB events across the state.
