THE Hills are alive with art and craft events this month.

Our Studio in the Hills has affordable art and gifts on sale this weekend as part of the Perth Hills Spring Festival.

The St Barnabas Anglican Church art group will display their wares inside the Kalamunda church hall from 10am to 4pm on Saturday and Sunday.

The Rev John Ward, a member of the group, created a wire pygmy possum for the group’s silent auction to benefit the Kanyana Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre in Lesmurdie.

Organiser Teresa Thomas said the event would include décor pieces in ceramics, glass, mosaics, wood and original paintings.

For those who fancy a drive in the country, head inland to the historic town of York for the annual art and crafts awards displayed in the Town Hall.

The event will open at 2pm tomorrow and continue throughout the week from 10am to 4pm until Saturday, October 15.
