UPDATE: body found in search for missing man John Irvine

January 17, 1.41am: Police have located a body that they believe is that of 67-year-old John Irvine.

This comes after a four-day search for the Northam man.

They thanked the community for their help with the search.

Their search came to an end after 11.30am this morning.

January 17, 8.38am: THE search for missing 67-year-old John Irvine continued overnight with help from the police helicopter, canine section and Tactical Response Group

Nine horses from the mounted section will join the search today, along with Department of Fire and Emergency Service SES volunteers.

January 16, 6.54pm: POLICE have found the car of missing 67-year-old John Irvine near Mundaring State Forest today.

Mr Irvine has been missing since Sunday (January 13).

Police found his Toyota Corolla hatchback following a three-day search, which has now extended to the State Forrest.

Northam Police continue to seek information regarding Mr Irvine who left his Northam home on Sunday morning and was last seen at a roadhouse in Quairading about 2.30pm on Sunday afternoon.

He is described as fair skinned with a slim build, approximately 165cms tall, with white hair, green eyes and speaks with a strong Scottish accent.

He was wearing a blue and black t-shirt with white writing on the top left-hand side and black tracksuit pants.
