Police investigate armed hold-up at cafe in Darlington

POLICE are investigating after an armed hold-up at a cafe in Darlington yesterday morning.

Police say a man concealed his identity and threatened a staff member at Perrella’s, on Beenong Road, just after 6am before making off with a sum of cash.

A preliminary police report said the suspect was “possibly armed with a firearm”.

Investigators would like to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time of the incident, in particular a man who was exercising on Owen Road.
