Kalamunda election candidates angry over stolen campaign pickets.

South east ward councillor John Giardina said 13 of his signs went missing overnight from Pickering Brook, Carmel and Walliston.

He reported the incident to election returning officer Peter Zaikos, who said pickets belonging to three candidates were missing in several areas.

The campaign pickets cost about $50 each.

Mr Giardina said it was not unusual for one or two pickets to go astray during an election campaign, but this was the first year so many of his posters had been removed.

Forrestfield police Sergeant Daniel Steinbeck said theft of or damage to campaign pickets was a criminal offence.
