Power set to be restored to area

More than 140 poles and 9km of power lines were damaged or destroyed in the blaze.

About 50 crews have been working on rebuilding the above and below-ground network.

As of late Thursday, about 450 properties in the area remained without power.

Western Power acting chief executive Stewart Hart said the rate of reconstruction achieved was astounding.

‘The planning and team work has been nothing short of exceptional. We plan to have the network rebuilt and energised by the weekend,’ he said.
