The Pre-War Sports Car Club is holding its 20th anniversary run starting from Oakover Estate on September 6.

VINTAGE car enthusiast Nigel Makin will hit the road this week through the Avon Valley in his 1929 Triumph Super 7, joining other devotees from the Pre-War Sports Car Club.

The Club is celebrating its 20th anniversary with a four-day rally starting at Oakover Estate in Middle Swan before embarking on a road trip to take in some of the best driving roads in Beverley, York and Cunderdin.

“The range of cars that will be taking part are quite rare and some of great beauty from Bentleys to MGs to Amilcars,” he said.

“I have been researching the Triumph for more than 20 years, which led me to the original car the Imp which was driven and raced with success by Eric Armstrong right here in WA.

“This model is incredibly rare and only three Triumph Super 7s exist in WA.”

The event will run from Thursday, September 6.
