A PRESCRIBED burn by the Parks and Wildlife Service to manage forest is scheduled today about 4km east of Sawyers Valley.

Motorists are asked to turn on headlights and follow traffic management signs when driving through areas affected by smoke.

People with conditions exacerbated by smoke should take precautions in line with medical advice.

Multiple government agencies and private landowners may conduct prescribed burning as part of the shared responsibility for keeping communities safe.
