Prospective councillors for Mundaring can attend info session

PROSPECTIVE councillors for Mundaring Shire are invited to an information session in the lead up to the local government elections.

Councillors whose election term expires in October include Shire President David Lavell and Crs Bob Perks, Patrick Bertola, Pauline Clark, Trish Cook and Tony Cuccaro.

The talk will be held at 6.30pm on Wednesday, August 30 in the council’s civic reception room.

People who go along will find out about the responsibilities of elected members and the level of commitment required to perform community and civic duties.

WALGA will host a free webinar for prospective elected members on Thursday, August 17 from 5pm to 5.45pm.

Topics covered will include an overview of local government, the roles and responsibilities of council and an overview of the skills required to be a councillor.

There will be an opportunity to ask questions during a Q&A session at the end of the webinar.
