RESIDENT Kathleen Vermeer turned to her Federal Member Ken Wyatt to support a campaign to get a post box at Wattle Grove Shopping Centre.

Australia Post recently installed the new post box after the Aged Care Minister requested a closed post box, near a service station on Welshpool Road, be relocated to the shopping centre.

“Although many people these days are more inclined to use digital technology to pay bills and send their correspondence via internet and email, there is still a need for post boxes to cater for those in our community who wish to send hard copy correspondence,” Mr Wyatt said.

The Hasluck MHR congratulated Mrs Vermeer for her efforts in raising a petition last year that called for postal services to be established at the Grove Lotteries and News at her local shopping centre.

Mrs Vermeer brought her concerns to Australia Post and Mr Wyatt at the MP’s Communications Forum in Wattle Grove in October last year, where an Australia Post representative was asked to review postal services for Wattle Grove.
