Lynn GriersonHills Avon Valley Gazette

POLICE have charged the Gosnells driver of a Mercedes Benz and his passenger with multiple offences after a pursuit ended in a roadblock in Kalamunda.

Officers from several units tracked the vehicle on the ground and by air in the new police plane Polair64, intercepting the car in Railway Road near Stirk Street at 11.15am on Friday.

The 22-year-old female passenger, also from Gosnells, allegedly ran from the car. Police apprehended the 19-year-old male driver before the car caught alight.

Officers used car extinguishers to quell the flames until firefighters arrived at the scene.
